Our Thoughts

Luck is created...

A closer look at successful people reveals that they are very good at what they do. What we normally don't see are the countless numbers of hours, months and years they invested in generating their admirable skills. The bottom line is that people who identify what the market needs, invest time in generating and perfecting the necessary skills will always be valuable in the market place. Other people may say that successful people are lucky, but through close observation we find that, luck gets created through relentless hard work. Since we get paid for bringing value to the work place, naturally these people will always be well compensated.

It's important to constantly carry with us the attitude of continuous and never ending improvement of how we do what we do. As we improve we, almost unconsciously and potentially, begin to position ourselves for higher achievements and success in life. Sometimes our jobs are challenging, and it is precisely at these times when such challenges are opportunities for developing our skills be it in technical or inter personal areas. As we work we are always challenged to look for personal development opportunities in our jobs and to commit ourselves to deliberately growing our skills.

As is true for many other things developing our skills will often not be given to us on a silver plate. More often than not developing our skills will seem uncomfortable, but it is only in this process of stretching ourselves that we reach mastery and become extremely valuable. Luck is created through a deliberate commitment to improving ourselves and growing our skills. It takes time to get good at anything; the key lies in making a conscious decision to persevere through the rigor of work and focusing on putting up the best possible performance. Then, the skills and enjoyment of what you do will come.

If you observe successful people closely you will find that, many did not start out with the idea of making huge empires, rather they set goals for themselves at being the very best at whatever they did. Being committed to deliberately practicing what’s hard and necessary provides the key to excellence in a diverse array of fields. When we embrace this philosophy, we eventually radiate confidence and assurance. People will notice this and great opportunities will start flowing our way. This is how luck is created, not by chance but by the choices and commitments we make.

So, regardless of where you are right now or how you feel about your job, just remember if you decide to engage in a process of consistently developing yourself and growing your skills, you will start performing so much better and begin to attract attention. Within no time this attention will translate itself into rewards so that people who see only the rewards will say, "You are so Lucky", because they only see your achievements and not your commitment.
